Beginning its stamping operations in a basement with only two people, Boker’s is now celebrating more than 100 years of success with an expanded 165,000 square-foot Minneapolis facility, where it can manufacture countless standard or custom precision metal stampings, washers, spacers, and shims.
Boker’s has taken its original process from 1919 and fine-tuned it with today’s technology and capabilities. By expanding its facility with an additional 66,500 square-feet, Boker’s has been able to continue investing in new technology to produce stamped parts with tight tolerances and excellent quality. The company’s new optical vision system, for example, allows for advanced precision inspections and reporting.
“This expansion will help us continue to exceed our customers’ requirements into the future without ever losing sight of their needs, nor our team,” said Amy Kersey, CEO and president of Boker’s.
Boker’s was founded by Vitus Boker, an inventor with more than 25 patents, and his son John. Three generations of the Boker family ran the business before it was sold to four employees in 1968. One of these employees was William Tedlund, who eventually became the sole owner. His family continues to own and operate the business today and now has more than 125 employees.
Today, Boker’s components are found nearly everywhere. Recognized by industry leaders for its accomplishments, the company has the capabilities to create endless custom stampings along with over 32,000 stock washer, spacer, and shim tools to manufacture parts from over 2,000 different materials.
