Over 100 people were on hand yesterday at the brand new AMMO Inc manufacturing plant in Manitowoc as the ribbon was cut.

Executive Vice President of AMMO Todd Wagenhals was the man in charge of the construction of this massive project, and he said without all of the local businesses who contributed to the project, there is no way they would have been done in the 15 months it took from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting.

“Believe me, this was a heck of an accomplishment,” he told those in attendance. “My wife and I started our home remodel over 2 years ago, and it’s still not completed.”

The addition of an AMMO Inc production facility action began back in 2019 when AMMO purchased the brass casings division from Jagemann Stamping just a few blocks away.

Wagenhals said building here was a no brainer.

He told Seehafer News, “They do a lot of the type of stuff they do in our facility (in Arizona). It just made sense to keep it here. Keep the employees that are currently employed here, here.”

NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Childress, who is also a member of the AMMO Inc board, was also on hand.

Yesterday we heard from Fred Wagenhals, the Chairman and CEO of the company who predicted that next year they will be able to produce 1 billion rounds of ammunition at this plant.

We asked Childress if that was a feasible goal, to which he said, “Once you see this facility, and go tour it, it’s amazing. They can do more than that in a year’s time that’s for sure.”

We did take the tour, and the first thing that stood out was the cleanliness of the production floor.

AMMO is looking to hire more workers.
