Tiffany Munford thought about naming her company Munford Metal Works, but a Mumford Metal Works in another state might have caused Internet search confusion. Tiffany Munford and her husband, Charles, started in the sheet-metal business in 2011, working for Custom Sheet Metal on Teall Avenue. She said it was a family-owned business that was purchased by SBB, a Syracuse company well known for making clean rooms, the specialized places used for bioscience or to manufacture delicate microprocessors or similar things.

Eventually, Daldrop, a large German manufacturer of clean rooms, bought SBB and moved the manufacturing portion of the company to the Boston area.
