Skilcraft announced plans to expand its facility in Boone County, Kentucky. The sheet metal fabrication company will add 22,000 square feet of space in an $8.44 million project that is expected to create 14 jobs.

The company anticipates that the investment will help increase production capacity. The extra space will house new equipment for manufacturing metal components and fabricated parts for the aerospace industry.

To advance job growth in the area, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved a 10-year incentive agreement with Skilcraft. The company can earn up to $350,000 in tax incentives if it maintains its investment amount. Skilcraft must also create 14 full-time positions for Kentucky residents that pay an average hourly rate of $32 across the next decade. Skilcraft is also eligible for resources such as placement and recruitment services, job-training incentives, and customized training.

Skilcraft President John Zurborg said the company looks forward to working with space, aviation, and green energy leaders.

Skilcraft provides sheet metal fabrication services for several industries, including telecom and electronics, medical, security and banking, government and defense, aerospace, and OEM. O’Neal Industries acquired the company in 2021.
