The apprenticeship program is completed in three years. Apprentices attend one full day of classes, one day, every other week. The Program requires attendance for 10 quarters plus two additional Evaluation Quarters - one after Quarter 5 and another after Quarter 10 - for a total of 12 quarters, or three years.
Apprentices report to the apprenticeship school once every other week. The time spent at the school is unpaid, and Apprentices should plan for this time accordingly. Attendance is mandatory and is a condition of employment. Failure to complete all classes may result in Apprentices doing the entire
quarter over or dismissal from the program.
The first 14 days are on permit, which allows the Union Contractor to continue or discontinue the Apprenticeship, depending on performance. This time also allows Apprentice to earn money for the Union initiation cost of $300.00, required at the end of your 14-day permit period. Dues for Apprentices are currently $90.00
to $123.00 per quarter.
