The Painters and Allied Trades District Council 30 Joint Apprenticeship & Training Fund is a union apprenticeship for those wishing to learn painting, wall covering, drywall finishing, glazing, faux finishing, texturing, wood finishing, special coatings, spray painting, abrasive and water blasting, basic math and geometry, and labor history.

Apprenticeship training equips the Apprentice for profitable employment, develops the necessary background for good citizenship, and ensures both the employer and the public the benefit of good craftsmanship.

The program augments what Apprentices learn on the job site. Actual practice and experience occur each day on the job. At the apprenticeship school the first priority is safety education. This begins with such activities as an OSHA 10-Hour program, first aid training, and scaffolding training. These activities are catered to the industry, focused on what painters, drywall finishers, and glaziers need to know to do their jobs and practice safety on the job site. These activities also concern the latest trends in workplace safety, such as our Red Cross certified CPR training, and training to use the Automated Electrical Defibrillator (AED).
